This one hits just as hard as Tim Sale, because Kevin Conroy was Batman to me more than any of the actors who ever portrayed the Dark Knight despite never once appearing on screen. He wrote a short comic, Finding Batman, wherein he spoke of being a gay man in Hollywood still fighting the prejudices of the AIDS epidemic years, and how he brought that righteous anger with all its complexity to the character.
I will always remember his voice over the strains of Danny Elfman's opening. Forever.
